It just has normal texture mapping with direct shading (if that's the right way to describe it as I have no real clue about rendering..) It can give nice results, but all is far from real looking, all looks artificial, which can be cool if you just want to give an overview. But there are many free (e.g. Kerkythea, Indigo (reduced version)...) and to be paid for (vray, indigo full version,..) plugins/extension for SU on the market. Done this one with the beta version of Shaderlight. It's okay, but I still haven't found one program that convinced me.
